Grave plot for Christmas present??

I saw this mentioned in a 'worst present ever' thread.

I don't think it's a bad idea. I live in London, grave prices are going up. How bad would it be to get my in laws a double plot for Christmas?

Terrible

TheHouseofMirth · 21/11/2015 13:57

Really, really bad.

longingforfun · 21/11/2015 13:57

Dreadful idea

SheSparkles · 21/11/2015 13:59

My dad handed my mum the deeds to their plot on Valentine's DayGrin, but this was only because that was when they came through the post-she had been expect the paperwork.
I do get where you're coming from but without any prior discussion with your i laws I think it's a horrendously idea and could cause a lot of hurt. Just no

Oh Jesus! Hahaha! I'm sorry OP but that really made me laugh out loud. I can just imagine your poor mil posting on here.

"I think my dil us threatening to do me in. She bought me and my DH a grave! Shock Should I phone the police or move and go NC? I can't understand, we always thought she was a lovely dil. ConfusedSad"

It really is the worst present ever!

MrsGradyOldLady · 21/11/2015 14:04

I think it's a fantastic idea. I really think you should do this and then film their reaction to put on youtube.

Klaptout · 21/11/2015 14:05

That's my in- laws taken care of, er, no not the best Christmas gift, tempting though it maybe.

RJnomore1 · 21/11/2015 14:07

Ermmmmmmmmmmm

maybe if I was worried about funeral expenses and my DC asked me what I wanted? Rather than spend ££ on a brooch I won't wear or an E-Z lift chair?
Though my DS would cheerfully dig a hole in the garden for me (he loves me really)

My DH thoughtfully bought me a Star. I have the certificate on the wall, it's mine, legally (yes I know, it's a bit of nice paper and how the Deivil do I prove it's mine)

D'you think he wants me to VISIT my star? It's not a "saved my airmiles" trip Wink

iklboo · 21/11/2015 14:10

Happy Christmas - we can't wait until you're dead. Hurry up already, we've bought you the plot. You're so ungrateful not using it......

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/11/2015 14:19

But they could get their revenge by donating their bodies to science, having the remains cremated and totally ignoring your thoughtful gift.

Or, worse regift it back to you Shock Xmas Wink

"We thought you might enjoy this"

Pranmasghost · 21/11/2015 14:41

It would be a kind and thoughtful thing to pay for for them but NOT as a Christmas present and only after consultation with them about the preferred location so the survivor could visit.

Jhm9rhs · 21/11/2015 14:43

Hahahaha oh this has me in stitches!
