This is what DD2 aged 4 wants for Christmas. All exactly the same as the teddy she sleeps with. She already has 2.

She repeats this everytime I ask. We are doing letters to father christmas this weekend so I know this will be on the list if not the only thing on the list.

I can only find them on ebay as they are no longer made. Do you think she will be disappointed if she only gets one...or none?!

WWYD????

I wouldn't spend money on something she already has 2 of. I would tell her the elves don't make those ones anymore, but isn't she lucky to have 2 of them as they are even more special now. And distract with a toy catalogue and make a big deal of other things to guide her into wanting something you deem appropriate.

How about getting a photo book, and having all of teddy's family in it? great Uncle Bulgaria, who lives in Germany, Uncle Carlos from Spain etc.

To make it, add props or dolls clothes to your bear, and print of a picture/flag from a country, sit bear in front and photograph.

You could make this a bit of a thing in the future, get friends on holiday to send your bear a postcard from cousin Ahmed in Turkey when they go on holiday for example.

To start you off, your new bear could be a special relative, maybe with a little sari, and it is auntie Saya from India.

We tend to say that Father Christmas likes you to have new and different toys so won't bring you the same thing eg if you have a perfectly good bike that is the right size you won't get one in a different colour but he will make sure you get something nice and fun

Why thank you!
My mum did a couple of photo stories for my kids when they were little and they loved them. It does take time to do, but it is a really personal present.

Why don't you start a new thread asking for photos of teddies around the world? I bet MNers would respond.
Also, how about taking DD to build a bear on Xmas Eve or Boxing Day?
