DH wants to buy one tomorrow but I am concerned that by christmas day it will be all dry and dead looking. We do always get the ones that should keep their needles.

as long as you keep it cool and water it it should be fine

we bought one today and wil decorate it tomorrow. just need it til boxing day as we're away after that!
keep it topped up with lots of water and before you put it in a stand chop off a few inches of the trunk

We're getting ours tomorrow, too. Sure it will be horrible in two weeks like ours always are - and we buy the ones that supposedly don't lose their needles, too - but I WANT ONE NOW!

oops
OFF the trunk!

thankyou, really hope you are right. We are in new house this year so tree won't be right next to radiator like last year. that may explain why it seemed to go dry and dead prematurely, despite watering!!

Last year ours lasted for ages - even when dh eventually got around to taking it from the back garden to the recycling place it had most of its needles. So I have taken a chance and decided to put ours up this weekend - got it from the same place and they have assured me it is non-drop. Lets hope it is not bare of needles by Christmas Day! (I never bother to water mine btw)

we are buying one today, we never have any problem with them shedding too early. we have a stand that we can put water in

Well I'm glad to see this. Dh is adamant that this weekend is too early, I think it's just right so I will show him this thread I think.
