How many lights will I need?

Going to be buying a 4ft or 5ft tree: will most likely be a 4ft one. How many lights would you think I'd need for it? I like it to look full with lights, but not OTT.

I have a 6ft tree and have about 250 lights on it and that's the back lit as well. Always looks nice when the lights are on and not bare.

I've seen a couple of nice sets but these particular ones I like are either 100 or 200. Would 100 be too few, or just right on a 4ft tree? I also like to backlight the Christmas tree I could spend hours looking at it!

Go for something in between maybe 150 you can always add more or take some off if you need to. If your anything like me the tree will take hours and hours and hours and still not look right to me

Thanks I'll look some more to see if the variety I like come in 150s (and my tree takes a while before I'm happy with it, too!)
