Anyone know if such a thing exists to attach to a scooter or bike? Ds has requested one!

DS has a cheapy bike computer (think it came from ALDI) which shows speed. It works by having a little sensor fixed on the bike wheel, so don't know if it would work on a scooter

Pobspits · 11/11/2015 13:11

Thanks - wonder where would have them now?

Seen a few on Amazon now but they're pricey for what I need apart from one but it comes with Chinese instructions ...

There are some on ebay. The proper grown-up ones are cheaper than the kids ones that make vehicle noises Confused

Found a couple for £6 on Halfords - thanks! Didn't know they were called cycle computers!

The one we got from Halfords last year wouldn't work on a scooter as it needs to have a magnet attached to the spokes which passes a sensor on the frame to measure speed/distance. It's fine on a bike though.

Thank you pobs you have given me a great idea for my sons!!

RhinestoneCowgirl · 12/11/2015 14:13

Glad you found one Pobspits, DS delights in telling me how fast he can go Grin

BertieBotts · 12/11/2015 14:15

What a brilliant idea! I think I might get one too.

Pobspits · 12/11/2015 19:12

If it works on the bike that's fine - tbh the bike is more useful t- they get bored of the scooter quicker!

I got my DS a wheel writer I'll try and find the link, I'm sure it shows the speed in lights in the spokes!

WoahBodyforrrrm · 12/11/2015 19:28

yes it's the fuze wheel writer and it shows the speed amongst other things

May not suit your son as he may not really be able to see the speed but it's good fun!
