Cheapest way to send large parcel from USA

I'm still trying to work out how to get a 79lb parcel from America to uk that won't cost £500. Does anyone have any ideas please. I wish I could actually hire Santa and rudolf!

i dont know about America...but when i send heaps of stuff to my brother aboard, i split it into smaller packages as it works out cheaper -would this be an idea?

I don't think I'll be able to split it. Need a Christmas miracle!!!

Can't you just buy its equivalent from a US site and get it mailed in gift wrap to their address?

It's a toddlers roller coaster. You can't buy it over here so I'm trying to ship it from US because im crazy!

I have seen the roller coasters here in the uk. I think in toys r us or Asda.

I think I know the one you mean. I actually contacted a few companies in the U.S. and Canada who were selling them and one had a freight option but would take ages and another offered to take it as luggage as someone from the company was coming across. Try calling a few stores and see what they say. Beware - if you ship it if you're going to get hit with a huge import tax bill!

Ask how many boxes it comes in. Y recollection is that it did split down into quite a few. The easiest way and most cost effective is to pay overage on baggage and send it with someone who is coming anyway.
