My DS (8) has a Old Ds very well played with .. He wanted a 3DS however he has now spotted PS vita which you can have minecraft with.

Any info or experience of them.

I bought my dp one for Christmas a couple of years ago and to be honest he never uses it. I don't think it's lived up to expectation but I guess it does depend on what games you use it for. There aren't really any on there that appeal to my dp, your dd will obviously be different though.
