just trying to draft a shopping list for christmas dinner and the three days after and was wondering roughly how uch you all spend.

Never had to do one before! There will be me, DH, DD, DSD, mum and dad. Plus a cat and a dog.

Im afraid that's really a how long is a piece of string question.

I have drafted a list. As I buy pieces bit by bit, I'll probably pair it down. For now, I'm getting the main gifts now and whatever I can reasonably hoard buy before Christmas is what immediate family is getting from Santa.

Your meaning food right?

That really is a individual thing as its whatever you fancy.

I'm hosting this year so it will be Christmas dinner (turkey, vegetables, stuffing yorkshires plus a homemade dessert)
Then I will have some bread rolls and cheese for tea along with left over whatever.

Boxing Day- probably some left over turkey (hopefully!) and again bread rolls cheese etc. Kids will be so busy playing with toys and stuff they won't want to stop to eat much.

Dinner will be something regular.

27th is my dbro's birthday so won't be at home for that one.

There will be the usual array of chocolates and nuts to nibble on the throughout and juice or water (no one drinks alcohol and we don't bother with fizzy pop stuff)

I am already planning it and trying to work out the cost, gonna be tight this year but my family who are attending will all pitch in and either contribute money or something towards it all.
My 2 DC will be 3.5 and 1.3 and I'm unbelievably excited already!! Xmas Grin

Realised I didn't put down a figure there. I'm not sure how much I spend as I haven't done it for this amount of people yet but everything probably comes in around £50-60. But then we don't go all out and do masses of everything. Just enough that everyone is full and happy!

Oh... Whoops. You clearly wrote Christmas dinner in the OP. That's what happens when you don't read the first post thoroughly. Grin

We mooch off family. My parent's house is the Christmas hub where we all gather for dinner. Christmas Eve we go to FIL who gives us dinner.

We do bring cookies and baked goods to share though, which really isn't that expensive.

Probably around £200,there's 7 of us (we have 5DC)and that will include something special for breakfast Christmas day and Boxing day,a 3 course meal for Christmas lunch,I usually cook loads on Christmas day last year we had Roast turkey and the Tom Kerridge Christmas Honey pork Belly,4 types of vegetables,2 types of potatoes, stuffing, yorkshire puddings, pigs in blankets, sauces and gravy and there was 3 types of pudding to choose from.

Christmas Day in the evening myself and DH usually do a buffet of hot and cold food, savory and sweet.Boxing day follows a similar patten, something nice for breakfast,a cooked lunch but 2 courses this time not 3 and then similar buffet in the evening.

The cost includes bottles of shloer and J20's which all the children love, some wine, beer and spirits and things like dates, mixed nuts, tins of chocolates, sweets and biscuits, different types of cheeses and crackers and different types of puddings.
