do they work and how much did you pay for yours. DS would love one if they work

Yes they work as long as you follow the instructions properly. You need to freeze the cup and keep the liquid in the fridge prior to use. Dd's was £12 from amazon last year.

It was a chill factor one , I wouldn't risk a cheaper one.

TheBitterBoy · 06/10/2015 11:20

Yes, DS loves his, and I have been giving them as presents ever since he got one. As above, the drink you use has to be properly fridge cold or it doesn't work. It also makes a fab frozen margarita. I keep ours in the bottom of the freezer all the time in case of need!

DS has a cheapy one and it works great as long as you (as others have said) leave it to freeze properly and use drink from the fridge.

great thanks; another good but useful present to buy

They are great, if you follow instructions. DSD has a chill factor one. It's a bugger to clean sticky liquids out of, somehow she lets it get mouldy quickly? If your kids are prone to leaving dirty cups under their beds don't get one....

StompyFreckles · 07/10/2015 18:03

My kids love their slushy cups!

Chasingsquirrels · 07/10/2015 18:07

We have the ones where you freeze the ice cubes (plastic filled with salt water) but not the cup.

You have to use cold drinks (from fridge) or it doesn't work.

I got them from The Book People for £5 last xmas and they aren't much more on Amazon at the moment.

We have had 1 cube, out of 6, split over the course of the year.

tropicalphilosophical · 09/10/2015 07:02

We have one at home ( chill factor I think) and it does actually work I was very surprised

scarlets · 13/10/2015 20:03

They arrived a couple of days ago. I obviously haven't used them yet, but they look good, quite substantial and well-made. Would make a nice gift.
