I need to find a gift for my 2 year old nephew. What did everyone's boys love at that age

My son loved his toy kitchen. Spent hours making George Pig dinner we got ours from GLTC, but I've seen a lovely one from IKEA that lots of people recommend.

DS also loved Thomas; the Take n Play playsets are really good and pack down very small, which is great. The engines that go with them are die cast and really good quality.

Toy food went down well for us - the Melissa & Doug cookies provided literally hours of entertainment at a time, and the same for DNephew, now almost 3. Same with the Melissa & Doug pizza, which DD (4) still often plays with.

Watching with interest. DS will be 2.5yo at Christmas. We got him a kitchen last year and it's ended up in the shed. We are getting him a balance bike but I would like some recommendations for games/toys for grandparents etc to buy.

Big Jigs train set is the most consistently played with toy in this house. We have a basic track set up, so are going to ask family to buy extra track or a crane or building etc. (he has a January birthday too....so we have to go easy on presents)

If toy kitchen is a hit...then the Melissa and Doug food is excellent quality.
