I have just had a email confirming that the Christmas week delivery slots will be released on the 15th of October.

OP posts:
HairsprayQueen · 25/09/2015 08:37

Mine is 22nd, hope they don't fill up before mine!

CakeNinja · 25/09/2015 10:28

Got my email the other day and it says 22nd!
Won't be using it though, although from memory last year I didn't have any trouble getting a slot.

TPel · 25/09/2015 10:29

Oh. Mine is 8th October. I've obviously been spending too much money!

AsTimeGoesBy · 25/09/2015 10:32

Mine's the 15th. I haven't bothered the last couple of years because of the delivery charge, I do all the non-perishables on the last free delivery day and get the fresh stuff from Riverford who deliver it for free.

QueenYnci · 25/09/2015 10:32

My email said the 8th October. I didn't have any problem getting the slots I wanted last year.

MicklePickle · 25/09/2015 14:16

WHAT! Mine is 5th November, bastards! Grin Ek ok now I'm worrying, how can I get an earlier one? Smart Pass or whatever it's called?

They are the only ones I trust for my Christmas food shopping

ShesAStar · 25/09/2015 14:57

I got 8 October. Wonder why the dates are all different?

SanityClause · 25/09/2015 15:02

Oooh! Mine's the 8th, as well. I remember it being later in October, last year, so maybe I've gone into a new band?

Also, deliveries on the 20th December are free for smart pass holders.

Racundra · 25/09/2015 17:43

I got 15th also. However, I'm wondering what will happen if I cancel my smart pass before then. Will it cancel my order?( even though there's a charge Hmm)

Hulababy · 25/09/2015 18:40

Mine is the 15th.

Will be using it. Had nightmare with other supermarket deliveries at Christmas. Ocado is the only one who has been reliable, including in snow.

Hulababy · 25/09/2015 18:40

I assumed the dates were in order of Smart Pass membership perhaps?
Or maybe it is region based?

ShesAStar · 25/09/2015 18:42

Can't be to do with smart pass as I don't have one.

Hulababy · 25/09/2015 18:45

I thought that was supposed to be one of the advantages of having Smart Pass - earlier access to the Christmas slots!

Hulababy · 25/09/2015 18:47

Its in their terms too!

3.3 Priority access to Christmas delivery slots
3.3.1 You will receive priority access to book Christmas delivery slots during a Christmas delivery period before the slots are released generally to all Ocado customers for booking. This means that only customers who sign up BEFORE the first release of Christmas slots - typically early October, will be eligible for priority access to Christmas slots in that year.

Are you signed up to other schemes with them instead perhaps?

HairsprayQueen · 25/09/2015 18:56

Ive been a smart pass holder for years but I actually rarely order with them anymore, only about once every 2 months or so, perhaps it's also how much you spend.

HairsprayQueen · 25/09/2015 18:58

And last year I only had the one time left of Christmas Eve by my release date so that's why I'm a bit concerned.

I'm waiting for the day I forget to remove the bottles of champagne I chuck in to reserve the space!

Starlingsintheslipstream · 25/09/2015 19:04

Gosh, I'm well down the food chain, like Mickle - 5th November for me too, Rarely use them these days. I've had Sainsburys the last few years. No trouble getting a slot and cheap/free delivery depending on which day it has fallen on.

Racundra · 25/09/2015 21:25

Hairspray - I am down to about once every 10 weeks now too.

ShesAStar · 26/09/2015 19:05

Hulababy- I don't think I'm signed up to anything else but I do a big shop with them most weeks. Not sure that would give priority though. Our town isn't that big - maybe it's to do with which area and how much demand there is in each area?

AsTimeGoesBy · 26/09/2015 22:00

I have found that so many people are now shopping online that the actual supermarkets are nowhere near as busy at Christmas as they used to be, another reason not to fork out £9 delivery on top of the Smart pass cost.

GogoGobo · 26/09/2015 22:23

8th Oct here, smart pass member and I do a weekly shop with them but I do resent paying for a Christmas delivery slot after the 20th Dec though....
