when do you put up decorations?

I usually put up the decorations about 10 days before xmas.But I have a small ish party here on the 9th for my book group and it is a sort of xmas do so was thinking of putting them up earlier .The problem is the only time dp is here to buy and more importantly carry the tree is this weekend!Will the tree last that long?

I'm not sure a real tree will still look at its best by Christmas. Things that might help it not be bare - get one with roots and water it regularly, don't keep it anywhere too warm, sing sweetly to it and tell it how beautiful it is!

tonight, if i ever manage to find my xmas lights

As a kid we always put it up for 8th dec, my big sis's birthday..Now aged 27 I am still the same and actually want it up from this weekend..!!! Having dd is a good excuse..!! DH wanted it up from Nov..!!!!

I think it should be ok if you stand it in water (Our garden centre/local farm told us this) and spray it with water daily. Also DON'T have it next to a fire or raidiator. Keep the room cool...Also DON'T spray it with fake snow like I did last year . Poor poor poor tree didn't like that bit...

1st of dec- or the weekend immediatly after it- So Saturday it is!
