Think we should do something nice for Soapy to thank her (and her sister) for all her hard work

Any ideas??

No ideas, but it's a really nice thought. Nominate her for a peerage, maybe

monkeymonkeymoomoo · 29/11/2006 09:58

I'll second that nomination

What about MNHQ? Any contacts that could provide something for Soapy? Don't know where Soapy is based but could we not send her out for a night or to a spa or something?

Agree - we need to say thank you to her somehow. But not sure how.

Gillian76 · 29/11/2006 10:03

A treat for her and her sisters

Miaou · 29/11/2006 10:03

I think a spa trip for soapy and her sister would be a fab idea - but then that's easy for me to say because I don't have the wherewithal to contribute!!

Ellbell · 29/11/2006 10:04

I agree. Had thought of this, but no idea how to organise it. Does anyone know her in RL? I'm sure MNHQ wouldn't release her address, but they might agree to pass something on.

Gillian76 · 29/11/2006 10:05

Spa day sounds wonderful.

Anyone live close and know where would be near to her?

tamum · 29/11/2006 10:06

A treat like a spa would be great. I also wondered if maybe some of the recipients would mind taking pictures of their children at Christmas to make an album for her, just to show her what a great job she's done, but I am so worried after that thread that it might sound patronising. Difficult to organise, too.

tamum · 29/11/2006 10:07

I think she's in London or near it.

Miaou · 29/11/2006 10:10

That's a lovely idea, tamum

Flamesparrow · 29/11/2006 10:11

Methinks a co-ordinator would be good (I can't - I have too much on and the panicking would stress me over the edge ) - someone to say "I'll do that", we can all email, be on one mass email list, and then it could be more of a surprise what is decided

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 29/11/2006 10:13

im happy to go with the album side of things - if people want to email me with their pics, ill get them all printed up and scrapbooked for delivery to soapy.

up to you?

SpookyMadMummy · 29/11/2006 10:14

Miaou · 29/11/2006 10:15

JARM, that's great! I will do my best with photos but we have no camera, so it may have to be fuzzy phone pics . I will email you - remind me if I forget.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 29/11/2006 10:16

Spooky - no mate - our post doesnt turn up til about 11.30!!!

tamum · 29/11/2006 10:18

Oh phew, thanks for not shooting me down about the photos- scrapbooking it sounds like a wonderful idea

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 29/11/2006 10:18

St George

Have emailed you

SaintGeorge · 29/11/2006 10:26

Got and replied JARM

JoolsToo · 29/11/2006 10:27

would have been a nice surprise for her if it wasn't on a thread in active convos!

JARM · 29/11/2006 10:29

Righty-ho people

We are going to do a scrapbook type album with all our xmas pics to show her how much this has been appreciated.

What I will require...

1 or 2 photos of each receivers kiddies opening their presents on xmas day - either by email or post.

A small short "thankyou" note from your kiddies so I can embellish the page with your photo.

Can you all email me on [email protected]

For those givers and receivers who wish to help in another way - please email St George xxxx

JARM · 29/11/2006 10:29

JT - the scrapbook is a public idea - there is stuff going on in the background!!!

SaintGeorge · 29/11/2006 10:31

NO there isn't anything going on in the background.

No siree Bob. Absolutely not. Nothing, nada, nil.

Flamesparrow · 29/11/2006 10:31

Scrapbook sounds really nice

tamum · 29/11/2006 10:32

JT if you can think of a way of doing it non-publically, given that soapy is the only one who knows who the receipients are, then feel free to let us know
