More than 1 tree? anyone else

It's our first proper Xmas in our new place last year I was 8 months pregnant / working / only been living here for 5 weeks and we have oodles more space now.

Am I being OTT to have two big trees? The main real tree in the living room and a fake one (full of tat) in DS's room. Plus I usually buy a few mini real trees to have around the house.

Anyone else usually have more than 1 tree?

Go for it, I have three!

RufusTheReindeer · 09/09/2015 10:55

4 six foot trees...apparently Hmm thats what it said on the boxes, they look a bit short to me

One seven foot tree

Did have another one in the conservatory but i swapped it for a narnia style lamp to go with my white theme

Go for it...i dont think you can have too many trees

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 09/09/2015 10:57

We have 1 big tree in the living room. A smaller one in the dining room and 4 upstairs in the bedrooms

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 09/09/2015 10:57

But how will Santa know where to leave the presents?

Growing up, sibling and I had mini trees in our rooms. Santa left our hamsters' presents underneath them Grin

Go for it.

I only have 1 colour of ornaments on the main tree in the lounge, so DS has his own tree in his room. It has many, many, many ornaments, and many lights, and is very Barbara Cartland-esq.

InQuiteAPickle · 09/09/2015 11:01

Of course you're not! We have two - one in the living room and one in the dining area. The first one is a themed one that would make Monica from Friends proud and the second one looks like Christmas vomited in our house (the kids decorate it).

TheDrsDocMartens · 09/09/2015 11:02

We have a big one and a tiny Dr who themed one!

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 09/09/2015 11:05

We have one big one in the living room, and the dcs each have a very small one in their room with battery operated lights Grin. I could put one in the entry hall and dining room, but that would mean getting more lights and ornaments and while I love Christmas, I'd rather not spend the extra money on it.

But if you have the space for it and can afford it, I don't see a problem with it.

OohMrDarcy · 09/09/2015 11:05

I have a real tree in the lounge, the kids have those mini 3 foot jobs full of tat in their rooms, and this year I'm debating getting a small potted tree for the porch too!

CarpetBagger · 09/09/2015 11:16

Dc have a smaller one in room.

If I had the space YES I would have a few trees.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 09/09/2015 11:18

I have a large (8') fake tree, and a small (3') one. Some years I put both up - one in the entrance area and the other in the dining room. Depends whether or not I cba, to be honest.

CakeNinja · 09/09/2015 12:29

We have a 10ft tree in the kitchen and then a 6ft in the front room and the dc always choose me a mini one for the utility room!

CarmenMonoxide · 09/09/2015 12:33

We have 3. One in the lounge, kitchen and main landing.
Colour co-ordinated to the room in true poncetastic style.

FireflyGirl · 09/09/2015 15:12

Big one in the living room, small 1ft one on the half landing, small real one in the front hall, and this year I have a breakfast bar so that's space for another one Grin

The one on the landing is red and gold and the front hall is Scandinavian. The living room one is a Christmas-vomit special. DS is only 6 months, it's all me and I love it Xmas Grin

HackerFucker22 · 09/09/2015 19:09

Yay - glad it's not unusual - can't wait!!

Going to let DS decorate one (the "tat tree") and we'll have our normal one downstairs.

mentioned to DD (8.5) that I was debating getting a potted tree for the porch, she's so excited!!! Her words were, so when people walk past they'll feel the christmas spirit mum! She has already agreed it will need lots of twinkly lights too!

I love my girl Grin

TheExMotherInLaw · 10/09/2015 13:55

We used to have large tree in lounge, large tree in family room, small tree in dining room and tiny trees in dc's bedrooms, each one colour themed to the room, as were the ceiling decorations. Not quite so much since I became ill, but still at least 3 trees tried to decorate dh's study, but he told me to push off

LumpySpacedPrincess · 11/09/2015 07:52

We have two trees, one real and one small artificial.

Oldraver · 11/09/2015 11:20

DS has his own tree in his room. A friend bought it for him, its a fibre optic one and he loves it. I usually get him a new ornament for it each year

NewLife4Me · 11/09/2015 11:24

Oh yes, have as many as you like, it's your house.
My dc have always had one of those tiny ones each in their bedrooms then we have 2 more 7ft trees downstairs as we have high ceilings and big rooms.
This year I'm removing all the tat though and going for a bit more classy look now the dc aren't little anymore.

MirandaWest · 11/09/2015 11:25

We have A Lot of trees. Not sure how many. Only one real one though.

YouMakeMyDreams · 11/09/2015 11:33

We have a far too big real tree in the living room. It is not themed but filled with nice glass baubles it always makes me feel very Christmasy.
Artificial one I'm the dining room with whatever pack of decorations was on offer on homebase when we go in. All the kids home mades go on there. It is probably the tree people see most as we use the back door and have to go through the dining room. Kids also have mini trees in their room.

SlatternLikesToRest · 11/09/2015 20:31

I have 2 main trees and the DCs each have a tree in their room. By letting the DCs decorate their own trees I am free to control decide what goes on the main trees. Win win.
