What are they in to these days????? He is very bright, sporty and musical. I would like to get him something to open as I sent a gift card for his birthday. Completely stuck for ideas.

whats your budget ?

If he's got a playstaion/xbox etc then a game for that is a good bet.

NAB3 · 28/11/2006 13:19

I have no idea what games he already has as I had thought of that. If I asked his Mum she would tell me not to buy him anything so that isn't an option. I would spend up to £15.

NAB3 · 28/11/2006 16:44

Thanks for such a lot of ideas!! I doubt very much that he has a mobile but I will think about the other things. Thanks again.

The DVD of Stormbreaker came out just a week or two ago I think- that might be ideal (£11.99 from Play ).

NAB3 · 28/11/2006 16:49

That looks possible. It is one of those things that will be really perfect or so the wrong thing. Has anyone seen it?

I've bought it for my 12 year old, but haven't seen it yet. It had good reviews I think, and I know lots of ds's friends enjoyed the book. You're right though, it's hard to know for sure. Ds is very keen on Spongebob Squarepants for what that's worth- there are lots of games and DVDs associated with him!

dmo · 29/11/2006 09:45

spongebob for a 12 yr old?

tamum · 29/11/2006 09:52

Err yes. Why? It's not just ds, his friends are all keen too.

marthamoo · 29/11/2006 09:55

My almost 10 year old loved Stormbreaker at the cinema (I rather enjoyed it too - though I was a bit disappointed at how little Ewan McGregor was in it).

Everyone loves Spongebob. It's like The Simpsons - non age specific

tamum · 29/11/2006 09:56

Well I would have thought that too marthamoo Have you given your ds the lego yet?

marthamoo · 29/11/2006 11:30

No, it's his 5th birthday on the 7th December - can't wait!

NAB3 · 30/11/2006 12:53

Have ordered the Stormbreaker DVD. Thanks for the idea and link!!

Problem with Stormbreaker is you feel like Humbert Humbert because the kid is soooooo bloomin gorgeous! Sod Ewan McGregor! Very cool film, great martial arts choreography too.
