I got dd2 a Lucy dog for Christmas last year. She was 7 (nearly 8) and loved it. It hasn't been played with constantly since then - more like a day or so every few weeks - but when she does get it out, it is played with for a couple of hours. She had it out a couple of days ago and was playing with it when a friend was round. I would it lasted beyond the one-day wonder status, but isn't exactly the most played with toy ever, iyswim?

My DD who is 7 in February got Cayla last year and Lucy the year before. Lucy is occasionally still played with and I think is a lovely toy. Cayla in my opinion is rubbish and has been played with for only very short spurts as we find her very frustrating and unresponsive or not understanding what we are saying, we don't have any accent.

DDgot Cayla last year and loves her. She's always stealing my tablet so she can play with her

My post sounds quite negative - I didn't mean it to. Dd2 loves her Lucy dog, and I think it's had more use than I thought it would. I'm happy I bought it, and would buy it again, iyswim.

Thanks for your thoughts everyone, took dd into smyths today and she is just mad about Lucy dog her face lit up! Cayla is bigger than I thought but an awful lot of money to get bored of! but dd said she rally wants her so will end up getting her no doubt! Still nice to know some kids do play with them now and then rather than forgetting about them ..:)

Do any of you with Lucy have instructions you could possibly take a picture of and send me?

Our Lucy has been a total waste since Christmas (when it was all she continually asked for!!) because DH threw the instructions away... Confused

CarpetBagger · 09/09/2015 11:15

I have got my toddler lucy the dog and yes - bloody expensive so praying it works and she likes it - however good to know older likes it too.

It certainly looks impressive, its large and big in its box, perfect for us.

I got my older a furby this year.

PandasRock · 09/09/2015 15:29

MaryPoppins - I have the instruction sheet, and re-found it over the summer because Lucy needing re-training and wouldn't do anything. I will take photos later and post them.

PandasRock · 09/09/2015 15:30

Oh, but meanwhile, I'm sure I found a odd online when it looked like the instructions were lost - try googling, but will defo post photos later anyway

PandasRock · 09/09/2015 15:30

Grr, that's a pdf I found online, not an odd!
