Fake Tree Storage

Hi all I have an 8ft artificial tree (branches are individually hooked on) and the box recently got damaged by a leak. Thankfully the tree is fine but now I have nothing to store it in. Can anyone recommend a bag or container please?

Ours is in three sections with the lights on (so three wires and the adaptar too)

We keep it in a jumbo Space Saver bag but only vacuum it about half the amount.
Waterproof, tough and transparent (so that DH doesn't accidently crush it or throw it out. He has form )

I got a zip up bag from The Range. It's like a giant holdall, it would probably take a tree up to 10ft. I wrap the different sized branches in bundles in strips of bubble wrap so that the hooks don't pierce the bag. I find the handles make it easier to get it in and out of the loft, and it's red so easy to identify. Our original box fell apart after 12 years, even though it was patched up with parcel tape!

The Range also do special bags for storing wreaths, present wrapping stuff, and other decorations. They are usually on sale when the Christmas decs are.

I don't put mine down anymore, we just cling film it (the whole shebang, baubles/ lights etc) and store it away like that.

Works a treat, but you do need plenty of storage space

I saw Christmas tree plastic boxes in b&q last year. We didn't get one as we are still using the original cardboard box. Worth a try looking there when the Christmas shopping starts?

There are lots of tree storage bags on Amazon for reasonable prices atm

I was going to suggest, as an emergency measure, getting a big piece of thick polythene from a DIY place and parcelling the tree up until you can get a bag.

Noel what a fab idea! Sorts the annual tangled lights woe a treat! Do you not miss the actual decorating the tree bit though?

We always store ours in an old king size duvet cover which we fasten then tie and chuck in a cupboard. It's worked a treat for years until a couple of months ago when the cat found her way into the cupboard and - after following our noses - we discovered she'd been using the top of the bag as a litter tray for what looked like a good while... So, yeah, a new tree might be required this year
