Wow you're prepared. Nope I wrap mid dec at the earliest, still like bits to wrap christmas eve when the kiddos are sleeping.

Having a wrapping night sat under the Xmas tree with Xmas music and mince pies in December is part of the Christmas fun for me, so I wouldn't yet
I have only got about 3 or 4 things left to buy though Grin

Can I join you: I wrapped and handed one over two weeks ago Grin. Saves me posting it abroad later and paying a king's ransom for it as we were visiting them in the holidays.

What happens if the person stops talking to you or worse case dies, what do you do with the present then? I love being organised but i find this plain ridiculous.

Engine I suppose that problem only arises if you buy for a lot of random people? And maybe very elderly grandparents, yes maybe hold off on the grandparents until December

I thought I was prepared by putting 5 of the kids presents on layby while they were on sale.

I usually wrap big presents ahead of time but Christmas Eve is all about wrapping the fiddly little stocking presents.

Im sure I will still have some for December and stockings.
I was wrapping birthday presents and this one was in the cupboard I just got over excited with the celotape haha.

I have a list so I know whats been brought etc. Is a close family member so I will give it anyway

glowine that is preparation giving the gift early but understand on the postage costs. What did the recipient say? Were they surprised?

Wow that is organised, I've not bought anything yet!

I usually do buy early though and tbh if someone who I was close enough to to have bought a gift for passed away I think a gift I'd already bought would be the last thing on my mind

I love wrapping. All presents are put into one pile and left for me to wrap 23rd December in a few hour wrap-a-thon Grin

I have decided - for the first time ever - to leave the wrapping til Xmas eve.

I bought my first present last week but I thought we were further on in the year than we are Grin.

I bought and wrapped mums stocking with homemade wrapping last week (none in the shops) and left it in dad's wardrobe.
Feeling quite smug.

Now I won't do anything else until Dec and will panic Smile

Ooh, I want candy stripe paper! We have a giant roll of brown paper and another of red; I do like them but it's boring using them every year and they just don't seem to want to be finished.

I hate wrapping. I always expect it to be fun but no matter what way I do it (on my own or with DH, during the day watching an old christmas film or at night with a glass of mulled wine) it's just never as much fun as I want it to be.

Actually most of christmas is a bit like that - I love it in theory but in practice it's just mess and stress and sadly lacking in warm fuzzy feelings.

Woah! Don't leave all the wrapping until Xmas eve, it is a tyranny! I have done it before and deeply regretted it. Maybe keep a few last things. Loving the Xmas threads but haven't bought, planned or wrapped anything yet and never do until 1st December earliest. Might start a bit earlier this year, inspired by all of you. I always wait until after my very DSis's birthday on 25th November.

Well done you! I'm wrapping early this year, partly because I'm due dc2 in November and partly because I always think I'll do fancy wrapping and then I'm stressed and just do it all any old way. This year will be fancy, and the present opening will be extra fun for me because I won't remember what any of it is!

Wrapping this early is insane.

I always leave it until December. But every year I think I haven't bought enough and once it's wrapped realise it's far too much. So this year I've already wrapped what's been bought and can see that there's plenty already so I can calm the fuck down. Xmas Grin

Crazy no they were not surprised, we do it all the time, b-d presents handed over 8months in advance and hidden away etc. I'm unlikely to see them in person again before next spring (my parents). This conversation has reminded me that I see the other half of my family in autumn, better get organised! Last year there was considerably more postage on the outside of the parcel to them than value on the inside... Sad

I do the rest of my Christmas present organising as the year goes on but actual wrapping does not usually happen until December as most of my paper is stored with the Christmas decorations. I have been known to wrap on the 23rd but I now try to spread it out a bit more!

OvO I keep careful lists to avoid that and every year still end up with too much....
