... but I cant find a slimline one that will fit in her bathroom. Pleas keep your eyes peeled in the shops and point me in the right direction. All the ones I have seen are big and round.

I thought that was a joke! Get her something nice for herself and tell her to buy a laundry basket out of the housekeeping!

pipo · 25/11/2006 11:25

It's no joke!! My present from her is an alarm clock ,a hot water bottle and a tin opener.

Slim in which direction, pipo? Argos have lots of different shapes and sizes: here

(I am all in favour of getting things people need for Christmas, however bizarre )

Oh, have just realised that link doesn't have anything like all their laundry baskets (why not???)

Very neat white corner one. Also in seagrass

Have you got a catalogue?

pipo · 25/11/2006 11:36

Slim in the depth direction janh. I think the small basket in the set of 4 is the right size but what to do with the big basket? Toy box?

I got a set like that - the big one is in the bathroom and the smaller one went in somebody's bedroom (in the forlorn hope of getting dirty clothes into it instead of all over the floor) - I think they're the wrong shape for toys really.

There is also this one - slightly old-fashioned sit-on type . It's 30cm deep, is that too big?

pipo · 25/11/2006 12:21

Mmm...30 cms a bit too big I think, looking at my ruler and visualising my mums bathroom. It looks neat and tidy though.

I got a set of 4 laundry baskets from Natural Collection. They are fair trade, natural material (seagrass or something like that) - it was £40 for the set of 4. They all fit inside one another - ranging from dustbin size to bucket size. We've got one in each bedroom now seeing as my family (DH especially) are incapable of carrying their laundry anywhere.

now you have checked lakeland havne't you?

pipo · 25/11/2006 19:49

I forgot to say thank you for your suggestions this morning janh ( I was on toddler watch so a bit distrated).
Katherine-yes the natural collection ones look lovely but are too bulky for the space that she has in mind in the bathroom.
Twiglett-have just looked at Lakeland at your suggestion but again they seem quite deep and a bit plastic!
Thank you anyway.
