Have been getting bored of my name which was the only thing I could think of when I joined, but I don't want to disappear into total obscurity if I change it.

Is this why people change theirs?

foxtrot · 25/11/2006 17:35

IMO it's like putting on a new outfit for a special occasion (and i like thinking them up too).

xmasmummy · 25/11/2006 17:46

how about Foxtrot Charlie its slightly less obvious than some but look at the first letters.

foxtrot · 25/11/2006 18:08

oh yeh i geddit!

GlowormLovesTheLateLateToyShow · 25/11/2006 19:16

Hmmm, not sure if this one is too obscure for non-irish mumsnetters to "get"

(and thanks for your suggestion foxtrot )

foxtrot · 25/11/2006 19:22

the late late show, yes, the toy bit , no, the releveance to xmas, not at all.
BTW how do you spell Santy, as in santa claus? We visited santy in his dublin grotto last weekend and my DCs call him that now, very sweet. I was also very impressed by the way all their cousins had written and posted their letters and that was it as far as the parents were concerned - no last minute changing minds about what presents were wanted is allowed!

GlowormLovesTheLateLateToyShow · 25/11/2006 19:30

i always spell it santa, even though i pronounce it santy/santie!!!

the late late show do a christmas special, the whole episode is dedicated to toys. they have lots of kids in demonstrating the toys ....all live, great craic. Its used to be much better years ago when Gay Byrne presented it, Pat Kenny is a bit wooden and doesnt really seem to connect with the kids.
Still, its a christmas tradition in Ireland and not to be missed (especially if you are a child and its a major treat to stay up late, it doesnt start until 9pm )

foxtrot · 25/11/2006 19:33

ah, thanks for clearing up the spelling, i wasn't brave enough to ask anyone while i was there.
