when do you buy your christmas tree?

my dad hates christmas and made my mum get it on christmas eve - i love christmas and want to get my tree first weekend in dec but I was raised to think this is wrong wrong wrong - when do you get yours?

weekend before Christmas we put it up - that's what my mum always did so I guess that's why!

I really do think that in this case, there are no rights and wrongs

The first weekend after Dec 8th - as this is dp's birthday and "we" can't think of Christmas before then!

About 7-10 days before Christmas.

The first weekend after 9th December, which is DH's birthday. Not a day sooner or later... it's tradition in this house.

I usually order mine in advance from our local greengrocers which does good ones, so I don't miss out. But I don't get it or put it up until about a week before Christmas. Then it will still be fresh enough over the festive season.Also ds's birthday is 5th December, so like to get his birthday celebrations well and truly over with before getting going with Christmas.

I buy ours around 2nd week of Dec from a Forestry Commsion place but I don't put it up until sometime the week before Xmas. It's important to get one early as they are all cut at the same time and the best ones are gone, leaving you with all the wonky ones, if you leave it any later!

if u mean real tree though they don't go on sale here until 1st week of december

2nd Saturday in december buy it last thing in the day and decorate on sunday am

We always start to decorate on 1st Dec - dh takes the afternoon of work to put up the fairy lights etc.

BUT we have had an artificial or 'real in a pot' tree until now, so not sure when to put up a real, big tree without roots

end of 2nd week in December or beginning of 3rd week (real tree). Any earlier and the needles are everywhere and it looks v sad by christmas. Comes down Jan 2nd
