Who else has bought nothing yet for Christmas?

I am beginning to feel a bit panicky, reading all the Christmas threads. I never really start my shopping until about now anyway, but for some reason this year everyone else seems much more organised than me. Is Christmas scheduled a fortnight earlier this year? Did I miss an announcement?

I had nothing until yesterday then suddenly felt the urge come over me, so went out today and did quite a bit.

DumbledoresGirl · 13/11/2006 21:26

Yes, I think that same urge is about to wash over me. But I so want dh to come shopping with me this year! I must urge him to get some days off work booked.

When I read the threads and watch the adverts, I get slightly panicky, but then I remind myself that there's still 6 weeks or so till 25th December! I've not bought anything yet - I can't buy till it's cold and frosty outside. It just feels wrong otherwise. People do seem to start earlier and earlier each year. I know that my MIL will have bought and wrapped her presents.

controlfreaky2 · 13/11/2006 21:32

not a single one! [slight panic emoticon]
did buy someone a b/day pressie today!

IdrisTheDragon · 13/11/2006 21:33

I have bought one thing.

Secret Santa present at work.

southeastastra · 13/11/2006 21:34

i haven't got anything yet either, christmas is miles away

Rhubarb · 13/11/2006 21:34

Nowt, not even a decoration!

DumbledoresGirl · 13/11/2006 21:34

Not only have I not bought anything, but I haven't really got many ideas of what to get and I have 4 children and always have to come up with ideas for the wider family to give to them as well as us. Also, talking of birthdays, ds2 has a birthday before Christmas and I have as usual less idea of what he wants than anyone else put together!

I havent bought a thing yet either Worse than that apart from my youngest two I havent got a clue what to get!!!

themoon66 · 14/11/2006 10:40

Not got a single thing... not even got any idea what anybody wants. I might think about it when December arrives.

TBH, I could do without Christmas this year... it's just more hassle. Baaaa humbug

foxinsocks · 14/11/2006 10:41

Me. Nada. Brings me out in a cold sweat just thinking about it.

Went to get ds football boots yesterday and the shops were HEAVING ggrrr

have started to browse online shops though so will probably start quite soon

northstar · 14/11/2006 10:45

Nope, nothing bought here either. Haven't even decided what we are doing yet, or what's for dinner (well - ykwim).
I'm not in denial, just waiting for the frost, the music and the lights. Last year I bought too early and got far too much for my 2 because I had forgotten how just what I had hidden in the attic. This year I bought one power ranger from ebay and have given it to ds already because I couldn't wait to see his face when he got it. I am too soft to buy in advance this year.

tribpot · 14/11/2006 10:47

I have bought cards, but I'm assuming that doesn't count? No pressies bought, tons of time left!

Heathcliffscathy · 14/11/2006 10:50

errr...the sane people on mumsnet. it is not even mid november.

TheDivineLiliLaTigresse · 14/11/2006 10:51

moi
not a sausage
not even a little card or wrapping paper

prettymum · 14/11/2006 10:55

me nothing, i'll wait right till the end, i work in boots so can get discounts and i'll also wait for new years sales to buy for those who i wont see untill after xmas!!!

themoon66 · 14/11/2006 12:30

TBH, I cannot be working myself into a frenzy over something that is, when all said and done, just one day out of 365.

lou33 · 14/11/2006 12:33

nothing here either, am waiting til i have sorted ds1's birthday in a couple of weeks

lorina · 14/11/2006 12:57

Me and Dh havent done anything yet.

Its six weeks away and I reckon we can do everything in three days if we really concentrate. So bags of time to spare.

I love christmas (but it hasnt started yet)

DumbledoresGirl · 14/11/2006 13:01

Tribpot, I don't even have cards yet although I have a feeling there are loads left over from last year so I might be able to get away with buying no new ones this year.

When is the last posting date for sending things to Australia? Every year dh forgets his rellies and friends and for some bizarre reason I feel it is my job to remember for him. I probably won't, but if anyone knows the last posting date it would help.

Christmas posting dates - perhpas send this link to your dh

TinkersBollocks · 14/11/2006 13:05

Not bought anything, don't intend to until December at least. Think they're all mad, the early buyers. They're teh cause of Christmas adverts getting earlier and earlier on tv

DumbledoresGirl · 14/11/2006 13:06

Ha ha, done tribpot!

OP posts:
tribpot · 14/11/2006 13:08
Wink
DumbledoresGirl · 14/11/2006 13:10

Also asked him if he has sorted out some days off work for Christmas shopping!
