I have bought dd her presents for Christmas already but am starting to be asked by family and friends what they can get for her.

So far i've suggested Aquadraw, though i've seen it mentioned on the other thread that it's a bit of a one hit wonder. Megablocks is another suggestion.

What else, i'm sure there's lots but would like to know what's hot and what's not.

tia.

My dd will be 19 mths at xmas so will be watching this thread. I bought her an aquadraw from her greatnan as it was recommended on one thread but have just read the other thread where it says it doesn't get used. hat a nightmare! What have you bought already?

ludaloo · 12/11/2006 08:13

I think I put this on the other thread...my dd2 will be 16months at xmas...we have bought her a ball pit and a big bag of balls..
I will have to brace myself for the balls being all over the house no doubt but she REALLY loves the one at our local toddler group.
Dead cheap too
£10 for the ball pit....£8 for the balls (I think)

Mymum is thinking of getting dd the thatched cottage from elc but god knows if she will be too young for it.

Whooooosh · 12/11/2006 08:30

My dd also aged 19mts LOVES her trike.

Behaves like a mare when out in her buggy but on trike with parent steering handle she is like an angel.

DelGirl · 12/11/2006 08:34

She has a ball pit already, got it last year.

I've bought her a doll, a plastic wendy house, books, dvd, some stick on letters for the bath.

dd got a baby and buggy for her 1st birthday and it has been used loads. most played with toy i reckon.

Whooooosh · 12/11/2006 08:37

How about a kitchen and loads of fake food-dd also loves this...well we didn't have room for the kitchen but she loves the fake food.

Oh and a tea set.

DelGirl · 12/11/2006 08:40

She plays with a neighbours tea set and loves it so I had thought of that, just wonder what she'l play with when we go there .

ok

tea set
kitchen - though where i'll put it, I don't know
dolls pushchair

thing is, it's her birthday in April and i'm going to be stuck then too. I should resist the urge to buy stuff for her but it's hard

If you are buying play food etc my DD has a supermarket trolley which little ones enjoy pushing around.

But would also second:
buggy and baby
happyland
trike with parent handle
as great things for DD at that age.

DelGirl · 12/11/2006 14:03

thanks bozza
what's happyland?

Here's some Happyland things .

DD got the thatched cottage, post office and barbeque set for her first birthday in September and loves playing with them. The cottage has four noises it does and she loves pressing the chair which makes the televsion play music. She the "dances" along to it .

She'll be getting some more happyland things for Christmas I think

Leander · 12/11/2006 14:07

oh and she loves her trike.

IdrisTheDragon · 12/11/2006 14:08

She's definitely getting the

Happyland Christmas set .

DS (nearly 3) also likes playing with them - he is more imaginative with them so I imagine they will last for a while.
