Nativity sets for kids

As a child of the seventies we grew up with several versions of these nativity models where we used to get the job of creating the display - putting the little models of Mary, Joseph, 3 kings et al and I had looked forward to getting one for my kids - incredibly cheesy but we always liked it.

The only one I have been able to find so far is a wooden type but surely these things still exist? Does anyone know what I mean? nativity scene

There were quite a few in my local garden centre the other day so if you have a big one nearby might be worth a look there.

I got a nice little plastic one from Avon last year.. the people are sort of Play Mobile type people and it's unbreakable..

There are a load of Playmobil nativities on ebay. They're actually pretty cute! I bought one from Letterbox, which is wooden and very attractive, though suspect the Playmobil ones would last the distance better. I also have a Letterbox cloth advent calendar in the form of a nativity, which was horrendously dear but gorgeous.

...And Playmobil themselves actually do a nativity set... A google search brought up loads of hits.

Great minds, holly.... They're very nice though, aren't they? I was seriously tempted, but having blued the housekeeping on the advent calendar, I thought I'd better leave the playmobil until next year...
