Anyone get a good magic set?

8yo has been given one called 'the greatest magic show on earth' by Top That and it's excellent - good quality, nice solid case and clear instructions, but I think 5 is too young - they only really work once child is old enough to read instructions and has the satisfaction of tricking the family, ime.

Melissa and doug do a great magic set. Very sturdy.

DS got this one when he was 5. He loves it. I think I got it from an ebay shop though.

The Melissa and Doug one is wonderful. We got it for dgs for Christmas. It says 8+ on the box but dgs is 5.7 and loved it. He was able to put on a little show on Christmas afternoon with some of the simplest tricks but there is lots to challenge too. The quality is great and it all packs away in a sturdy wooden box. I wholeheartedly recommend it.
