My df is upset with my thoughtless brother

My db has always been self absorbed. My dad is not in the best of health but adores Christmas. My db went to his inlays for Xmas, which my parents were fine with he was also too busy with his in laws last weekend and this weekend for my parents to drive the 200 miles just to drop off their Xmas presents for my nephew and see him for a few hours.
My db will ring my parents at a moments notice tho and expect my parents (not his in laws) to drop everything and help with childcare, which my parents gladly too.
My db didn't ring my father on Xmas day and he is really upset. My parents and I laws came to mine and we had a great time. I tried facetiming my brother so my dad vouchers, could see him my sil and nephew on Xmas.
Would it be unreasonably for me to ring my brother (we aren't close but have no issues) and tell him how upset my dad is ???

No, but to avoid a row you need to be sensitive about it. Your brother is thoughtless, but it is your dad that you want to help. If I were you I'd phone under the pretence of wishing a merry Christmas, drop in that you tried to facetime but it didn't work and then tell him how gutted your dad was because he really wanted to talk to his son on Christmas day. Hopefully your brother will take the hint and ring your dad.

Your poor Dad. How does your Mum feel about this?

Do you get on with his Wife? Perhaps you could mention something to her too, about how thoughtless your Brother has been. I know it's not her fault, but if that my DP i'd be insistant her phones his family and arranges a day to see them.

Tell your brother. Be honest with him. He needs to know.

Thanks for all your replies.i have been out all day today but will try ringing tomorrow. My mum is upset that my dad is upset but otherwise fine. I think she expects nothing much from him so not do disappointed
