We dont get on with the PIL's (his side not mine) so I want to buy a goat for a 3rd world country or something similar.

Im bored of buying crappy presents, receiving no thanks and recieving tat in return, so I thought this would be an easy way around it.

Would it be mean towards them or do you think they would be ok about it? I know MIL did this last year instead of sending xmas cards, so i think its maybe something she would appreciate?!

great idea, but give plenty of notice so they can do same if they wish.

Would only do it if you were happy to do it for your parents as well tbh. If you wouldn't then I think that the message sucks a bit.

I know my MIL would hit the roof at the thought of her present being thousands of miles away, bearded, horny and lactating.

I wouldnt do it for my dad but that is because he does so much for us during the year that I always make sure christmas is special for him.

PIL's dont bother with the girls or us unless they want the latest gossip.

I will send a personalised calender with pics of the girls as well, but other wise im totally stuck for ideas. THey have everything!

i love this way of doing the gift thing, though. it makes so much sense in societies like ours, where we have so much but need so little. my dh doesnt really 'gettit' though, which annoys me.
