Kilner jars

Have purchased kilner jars to put some homemade bacon jam in to. Are they fine to use straight away or do I need to sterilise them first?

Yes bacon jam! I hate bacon myself so can't vouch for it but DP tells me it's a thing of beauty! Can't do links from mobile but if you google bacon jam recipe I use the Martha Stewart recipe.
