We bought one from LIdl a few years ago, they often have them this time of year. TK Max had some this week too.

DS1 has a Leap Pad one (I think) which has a stylus for finding out information and quizzes.

My DS (10) has a Brainstorm Toys 2 in 1 Globe Earth and Constellations. Its a regular globe and at night you can switch it on to show constellations lit up. He loves it. Cost about £20 I think

Have you seen the Leapfrog interactive one? It's great for learning flags, where countries are ..

The leapfrog one is great, its flat more like an atlas, DS is getting the Brainstorm 2in1 globe this yr

kiwidreamer · 06/12/2014 10:05

I think leapfrog will be too young for most 9yr olds

The Leapfrog one I have is an actual globe.
