are they worth the money? Ds is desperate for them but they are expensive and have heard the quality is poor. Any advice gratefully received.

They aren't great, but Ds1 is obsessed with Minecraft, so of course in his eyes they're amazing. He's getting some Lego Minecraft for Christmas.

The action type figures are good quality. We have a selection of figures plus the animal mobs. The skeleton jockey is waiting to be given by Father Christmas, but looks good.

We have a few of the plush toys too. To be honest, if you can wait, the rip off ones from China are of a pretty comparable quality. We also have a Chinese diamond sword and pick axe which have proved very robust in battle Wink

If be interested to hear if anyone has the light up torch and what they think of the quality and play value...

Oh and minecraft blockapedia book is out on the 4th. You can get it on amazon for £14. We have a few plush characters, the enderdragon isn't great as the wire that holds the head up keeps moving. The spider jockey is the best figurine so far, although I hate the silver fish. Confused

Oh and last night I made a Minecraft Advent Calendar containing mini minecraft figurines and chocolate. Blush

Avoid the minecraft paper craft though - 'tis a nightmare!

Oooo well done whatthequack! wish i'd thought of something like that for my suddenly minecraft crazy daughter! blockapedia book ordered and have a little baby plush sheep from ebay for 3 on the way to me (check postage times if looking to get the same as most are 'expected 19th dec to 3 jan' (not helpful!) but still some out there that are faster delivery times.

Thanks everyone, I might have a look for some from China. Loving the advent calendar whatthequack!

Sorry, me again, can anyone recommend any websites/sellers for the cheap stuff? Thanks in advance

I've used aliexpress and looked for sellers with consistently good feedback.

MonoNoAware - I have bought the torch. It is much better quality than I thought it would be but I haven't got round to putting batteries in and switching it on. I am putting it above my son's bed to be used as a reading light

MonoNoAware · 01/12/2014 18:43

Thanks Dolly, I suppose you don't know how bright it will be yet? DS would love it!

All I've bought my DS is a plush Endeman for £9.99. All the rest of the stuff seemed way to expensive. I didn't like the minecraft Lego at all for the price. They did have larger plush endemans and skeletons and diamond Steve but I'll stick with what I've got.
