God no!

Admire your organisation.

Have too many family birthdays between now and then - dc2 will be born within a few days, then my brother's birthday, my birthday, my dad's birthday, dp's birthday, dd1's birthday, some friends' birthdays.

havent started wrapping yet but mainly because I havent bought any presents yet! The only thing with wrapping as you go is unless you're very careful it can look a bit tatty by the time Christmas comes.

all4girlz · 08/10/2006 10:19

I wrapped early last year then panicked as I had forgotten what I had. Put cryptic labels on and couldnt quite remember what as what !!!
Endedup unwrapping and checking them lol.
So not this year not yet anyway.

nnnnnnnnooooooooooooooo but ive got the kids pressies already! as that is not like me at all as i usually get them 2 weeks before xmas

WelshBorisKarloff · 08/10/2006 10:23

Yes I wrap as I buy and make a note of what Ive bought

Gobbledispook · 08/10/2006 10:24

I'm tempted to wrap as I go too. I always think it's lovely to save it all up and do it on a nice cold night, by the fire with the Xmas tree lights on. In reality, it just becomes a back breaking and tedious job!

I've got a few things already and might wrap them tonight actually! I will be uber organised this year!

Have already got a list for each child - put down what I've bought already and also a list of ideas (that I got from MN!) - i'm going to buy as I go along too.

Gobbledispook you've just described my Christmas wrapping party for 1!! I LOVE IT!!! I wait for DH to go on his Xmas night out with work, put the fire on, tree lights a twinkling as I stick Miracle on 34th on the telly, pour myself a large glass of wine and get wrapping!! I'm all organised early with pressie buying and miss the buying in Dec so I really look forward to MY night of wrapping!! LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas!!!

southeastastralplain · 08/10/2006 15:33

blimey! i do it on christmas eve

Hideehi · 08/10/2006 16:27

I just remember last year we'd literally just finished wrapping at 3am when DD stuck her head around the door and shouted "he's been" and wanted to open them (she got sent back to bed, poor kid) but I was so knackered.
This year I'm having Christmas at home with MIL (we've been out for dinner in previous years) so I want to miinimise the work in the days leading up to by not buying much and not needing to wrap it in a panic.

It is only October!!!!! Surely being this organised takes all the fun out of Christmas.December is 7 1/2 weeks away!!

lizziemun · 08/10/2006 19:49

Yes, and i do keep a list of who and what i have bought for who.

I always have all presents bought and wrapped before the end of november so i have no stress or do i have to go near any shops in december. I find it much easier to do this, it works for me but you do need to keep a list so you don't buy duplicate gifts.

UniSarah · 08/10/2006 22:04

Yep- done some. Everything that goes to our family in USA, the lot went out with MiL last week, I gave it to MiL at start of sept when we last saw them.
So I was wrappping Christmas pressies in August, and a years worth of B/D pressies for the US neices and nephews for 2007 as well.

motherinferior · 08/10/2006 22:06

No, of course I haven't.

GeorginaA · 08/10/2006 22:11

I've wrapped 2 things. Mainly because ds1 is now old enough to go searching, and if I wrap as I go there's less chances of any surprises being ruined!

eidsvold · 08/10/2006 22:20

I usually wrap as I go so it is all done ready for putting under the tree. Haven't got anything home yet although a lot of it is on layby.

Jaysecond · 08/10/2006 22:25

warp them..................... i havnt even THOUGHT about what to get, let alone wrap them.... !!

Jaysecond · 08/10/2006 22:25

lol....wrap too!!

Piffle · 08/10/2006 22:26

HEL NO!
It's my dd's 4th birthdya in 13 days and I have not even bought her presents for that yet

Peridot30 · 08/10/2006 23:25

Im in same boat as you Piffle my dd birthday is 11days away and only bought 1 thing. also got ds and dh birthday on 3rd and 4th December 2. Didnt plan that very well.

mymama · 09/10/2006 21:11

no, because I haven't bought any pressies yet . harder to be organised here as dd (8) is starting to cotton on to the fat man in the red suit. so far this year she has asked "Why do the presents that Santa brings have a kmart/target..." label on them?" Also have to make sure I wrap Santa's presents in one type of paper seperate to paper for pressies from us.

fussymummy · 13/10/2006 00:03

I started wrapping pressies yesterday!!

Have 2 big bagfuls in the loft that i got in the sales months ago.

Hopefully my partner will go in the loft this weekend and get xmas stuff down, then i can wrap it and he can put it all back up there until xmas!!!

My 8 year old was asking the santa questions last year.

Asked if santa was real?

I said that if he thought santa wasn't real then how do all the presents in his stocking get there?

That got us through last year, but i'm dreading this year.

What age did other peoples children stop believing in santa?????
