Any advice on what Orchard Games to suggest family get DS (4) he loves Shopping List but isn't too fussed on the Jack & Jill one. Thanks!

Greedy Gorilla
Monster Bingo
Red Dog Blue Dog

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 19/11/2014 21:59

Greedy Gorilla
Tummy Ache
Wild World Lotto

have all been played with endlessly from about 4yo in our house and still come out occasionally aged 8 and 10. Bus Stop however is tedious in the extreme.

Crazy chef
Tummy ache

These are both played by DD (4) enthusiastically...

Lifesalemon · 19/11/2014 22:06

Tummy ache and greedy gorilla were favourites here.

bluebump · 19/11/2014 22:07

Tummy ache is great, we used to have that as children. I might get it for my DS.

schmeegle · 19/11/2014 22:08

Ladybird, Lotto and The Magic Cauldron - great!

MrsAmaretto · 19/11/2014 22:45

Thank you!

Monster bingo is a big hit. It also gives option of playing just using dice

fuzzpig · 19/11/2014 22:57

We've just got rid of most of our orchard toys games (resulting in one very happy reception teacher friend :o) as my DCs are older but we've hung onto tuten loot em - DH and I have been known to play it without the DCs Blush

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 19/11/2014 23:00

Not Orchard, but similar: Snails Pace Race by Ravensburger, has had masses of use here too.

Slowdownsally · 19/11/2014 23:00

The rocket game, tummy ache and a shopping one are all popular in our house.

Really like orchard toys: good quality and Ds loves them

PigeonPie · 19/11/2014 23:04

Pop to the shops is one for them to grow into. Bus stop is also good.

TheNumberfaker · 19/11/2014 23:05

Baa baa. It's a colours one.

MargotLovedTom · 19/11/2014 23:07

Red Dog Blue Dog Lotto
Old McDonald Lotto
Tummy Ache
Incey Winsey Spider

Lampy · 19/11/2014 23:10

My 4 year old is obsessed with tummy ache.

PinkOboe · 19/11/2014 23:18

Not fruit frenzy. Far too complicated even for me

mydaftlass · 20/11/2014 20:47

Tummy ache is played daily by my 4yo. Bus stop is good too.

Hurricaneinateacup · 20/11/2014 20:52

Don't get bus stop. I lost the will to live five minutes in. Plus when your bus is full what are you meant to do? The rules are ridiculous.

We played it once.

Noggie · 20/11/2014 20:53

Jelly elephants least controversial in our house so enjoyed the most!

CharlesRyder · 20/11/2014 20:56

My 4yo DS loves 'Rockets and Comets' (snakes and ladders) and it's great for 2 digit number recognition. Other favourites are Dinosaur Race, Monster Catcher and Rhyme Robber.

I have bough him 'Pass the Word' for Christmas.

Tummy Ache is fun too.

Another thing we have is a snakes and ladders rug and big sponge dice. He loves to play with this on the living room floor and actually quite often plays it by himself with two cars as opponents poor only child.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 20/11/2014 21:30

Glad it's not just me with Bus Stop! It just goes on and on and on.

Charles - my DS used to play for hours with a giant snakes and ladders (Maisy one) and one of those sponge dice. After a while we switched to using two dice when we played together and making him add the numbers, really helped with his number bonds and made the game go quicker.

CharlesRyder · 20/11/2014 21:46

I am buying another dice right now. Grin
