Who, despite usually loving all things Christmassy, thinks the Elf on the Shelf looks really creepy??

Nope it is indeed very creepy, especially as I've just seen Annabelle...

It's creepy. That smile fades and the eyes turn to you when you're home alone. Then suddenly it's not on the shelf any more...

Is there a specific elf on the shelf, then? If I were to do it I would pick a Maileg pixy. They're not creepy at all.

They're the stuff of nightmares, yes. I'd never subject my kids to the evil little bastards...

I don't know about creepy but it's certainly nonsense.

It freaked me out so I chose an unofficial version that is much more like a teddy bear rather than a creepy come alive doll.

I find the whole concept really creepy - DD was really scared about FC coming in her room to do her stocking when she was little so we moved it to the sitting room!
She would have been totally freaked out by an elf doing weird stuff when she was asleep.
We did advent calendars when mine were little .

We do a theme on EOAS but I agree the original one is creepy. Our elf aka Adam does things in the house 'during the day when we are out. We got our elf from the ruby range.

Quite a few people think it's creepy. I find it charming if anything!

Being very mean an artistic type ( I wish) I refused to part with ££ for the creepy little fecker so I made one with glued on felt clothes, hats and pixie boots.
One year a Christopher Ecclestone Dr Who doll

I find elf on the shelf just way over the top. I CBA with it at all and I think it would freak dd2 out.
