Playmobil or Playmobil 123

I have NO idea what to get my son, 2.2 for Christmas this year, but half thought of starting with some Playmobil. But I'm looking blankly at the screen. There are so many options and I'm not quite sure whether to go for the 'proper' range or the younger 123 stuff. He is quite grown up and doesn't put things in his mouth so im not worried by that side of things.

Do you have any suggestions?! What did you start with?

I would go with Playmobil. We bought 123 when DS was 1 and he outgrew it so quickly that I wouldn't do it again. Playmobil will last for years

Playmobil, the 123 stuff I got didn't last long at all. My nearly two year old plays with his elder brothers playmobil rather than that, I just remove any tiny pieces. Ds1 at 6 still loves it, plays with it all the time.

Playmobil, but go with vehicles at first as they tend to have bigger pieces.

The Playmobil 123 zoo is lovely and gets played with by my friends 4 year old quite happily.

I think it depends on each individual playmobil.
