Help with gift for dh

My dh is 78 years old. He is interested in everything and asks for nothing. In the past I have given him oil paints, a telescope, model planes to build, remote control planes, a weather station, sat nac, tablet etc etc. He is a wonderful cook and loves Italy and Italian food. He hates new clothes and doesn't smoke or drink much at all.
He has expressed interest in an 'experience' driving a classic car or a steam train but I can't find one I can afford. My maximum budget is around £100.
Please can anyone suggest something? I have stocking fillers, a book or two and a jumper (which he will tolerate).

lots of nice foodie stuff and you can make your own gift box. Plenty of italian cookery books, unless he has them all.
Do you live near a railway route that runs christmas steam trains? They're usually fun for adults as well with mulled wine, mince pies etc. Or they do special events like murder mysteries on the steam train.

Where are you roughly? Just had a look at Red Letter days website and they have an e type jaguar driving experience in Oxfordshire for £99. Looks like there are similar options in other areas. Groupon sometimes has discounts on experience days.

MN put me on to Fattoria La Vialla for excellent foodie hampers. Not ordered from them yet, but they have an excellent reputation.

Buyagift.co.uk have a steam train driving experience in Nottinghamshire for £59.

Thegreylady, you're the only person i know who's even known of the books i've come to a halt with the one where they're on honeymoon and the reporter falls down the lift. Do they improve again? I love agatha christie, but i've reread them so many times i've had to branch out. Anyway, i digress, hope you sort your gift out!

This is totally off topic and I am sorry, I hope you don't mind!! My mum loves agatha Christie too, I saw your chat, googled and want to buy her a daisy dalrymple book. Which is a good one to start with? Apologies again! I don't know how to direct message.

Daisy Have you read any of the mystery books by Georgette Heyer, Dorothy L Sayers, Ngaio Marsh or Margery Allingham? All set in a similar era to the Agatha Christie books.

Gin start with "Death at Wentwater Court" - it's the first book and introduces the characters.

if you can find a classic car experience it is well worth it, my brother got one for our dad (71) and he loved it, still talks about it now and year and half later. his experience was in Chichester so to far.

Not a hands on experience but have a look at Steam Dreams its on my bucket list!
