I'm after a science set for my 6yo DS. Can anyone recommend one that they think is brilliant for that kind of age?

This looks fantastic Enchanted, thanks! My only concern is that it's a bit pricey (it's for my parents to get him and they also have 7 other grandchildren to buy for!!).

Anything else for around the £25/£30 at a push mark?

We have this type www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B001MJ7DB2?pc_redir=1414521385&robot_redir=1. They do various size sets. DS has played with it since he was 4 and it has proved quite robust. He is quite adept at following the diagrams now, and is learning quite a lot about electrics.

We have the Cambridge brainbox sets too. They are well used here, the starter sets can be found for less than £20 if you shop around.

Dd also has an usborne book of science experiment s using things from around the house which she's enjoyed.
