Just gone onto Selfridges to order some personalised jars for christmas presents and it seems they've stopped doing them?

Does anyone know if they have definitely stopped doing them, and if they have whether they will be doing them again?

Gutted that I didn't order them when I first saw them! Hmm

Thanks to chelsbells for posting this. I'd never heard of personalised Nutella jars but was in London today so thought I'd take a look. I had a 5 min queue at 11am today and my children will be delighted with them Grin.

frozenmad · 04/12/2014 16:35

FYI, there was maximum 5 jar order per person. Not sure if this is always the case.

Merrow · 04/12/2014 19:14

It's down to three per person. This is... Problematic

CaulkheadUpNorth · 04/12/2014 19:19

I go past where they are made and sold in Birmingham if anyone needs one?

SheilaTakeABow · 04/12/2014 19:32

Merrow, don't worry about mine (she says nobly). Xmas Smile thanks for the offer.

Merrow · 04/12/2014 19:37

I'm getting there! I queued twice before slinking away in Nutella-related shame and I'm sure I convince my DP that they definitely want to queue with me see the Christmas shop this weekend

Merrow · 04/12/2014 19:41

SheilaTakeABow I actually have yours! I did the names in order of the ones I could definitely spell without having to double check my list, so your safe

Merrow · 04/12/2014 19:41

Autocorrect fail, you're safe that should be

TheWoollybacksWife · 04/12/2014 19:46

Merrow - no worries if you haven't got mine. You are a star for offering but I'll get DD the biggest jar that Tesco stock instead. No one should endure more than their fair share of Christmas shopping hell.

If you have got mine then you are an even bigger star Grin

CaulkheadUpNorth · 04/12/2014 19:47

Merrow - I don't want to steal your Nutella thunder but I can get some or something if that would help? The one in Birmingham doesn't seem to have queues during the week and I pass it most days.

WastingMyYoungYears · 04/12/2014 19:54

Shock This sounds awesome! Can anyone get me one?

SheilaTakeABow · 04/12/2014 19:59

Oh well bless you Merrow! I knew giving DS a three-letter name would pay off. I'll PM you my details Xmas Grin

catwithflowers · 04/12/2014 20:39

Merrow, if you didn't manage to get mine (the girls might have needed a name spell check!!) then would you mind letting me know as I will ask Caulkhead who has also very kindly offered. It seems you have been inundated!!

If you did get it, you are an angel Xmas Smile. If you didn't, no problem (and you are still an angel for trying) Xmas Smile

Merrow · 04/12/2014 20:39

CaulkheadUpNorth I'm sure there is enough thunder to share! I selflessly put mumsnet ahead of my work, so I need to go back for my Secret Santa gift, but can I let you know next week if I don't manage to get all the names?

CaulkheadUpNorth · 04/12/2014 20:40

Yep no problem. i thought they had got rid of the Nutella place up here, but I saw it yesterday, hence not offering before.

Samanthacoombes · 05/12/2014 03:09

Hi, would anyone be able to able to get one for my daughter ISOBEL..and post to my mum to bring out to New Zealand in January.....very very hard to find it here and a personalised one would be amazing. Probably the only one in the country !!!

Samantha and korma- that's no problem. I'll get an Isobel one, and Korma just send me a pm or something with names.

I've no clue about postage I'm afraid. I'll do whatever Merrow is doing unless that involves sending for free or using a pigeon Maybe about £5? They are quite heavy. I've honestly no idea though.

Gumnast2014 · 05/12/2014 08:39

I can also get and post going to traff on Monday
How did you sort money out merff!?

Merrow · 05/12/2014 19:39

Sorry CaulkheadUpNorth, I was intending to use my elite squad of carrier pigeons. That or the second class post. Definitely one of the two. Probably the second, on balance.

I'm planning to pack them up and weigh them then tell people whatever royal Mail decided to charge for that. I haven't got money yet, but I'm assuming most people will pay by bank transfer or PayPal.

I have all the Nutella jars that people pm'd me about thanks to a quick costume change that allowed me to queue twice. I also discovered that Selfridges do personalised Mr Men / Little Miss stuff so it was a successful trip on the whole!

Merrow · 05/12/2014 20:06

It looks like postage will be £2.80 for second class post, so that plus whatever you need for packing materials CaulkHeadUpNorth?

CaulkheadUpNorth · 05/12/2014 20:29

Okay, sounds good. If anyone wants one and hasn't already asked someone, can they pm me the name please. Only one I have so far is Imogen.

Probably £3 postage- £2.80 for Royal Mail and 20p for bybble wrap and jiffy envelopes.

I think they are 4.99

Sorry, just re read previous post, and it's Isobel, not Imogen.
