Re gifting etiquette?

Hi

We're on a budget this Christmas and I'm almost done with the shopping.

As part of a clear out I now have a pile of cookbooks in my dining room that I've never used. They're all good books (Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsey etc) that my DH received as gifts but has never opened.

Both my family and his are into cooking and I am giving all of them a mini hamper alongside their gifts. Can I regift some of these books to go with the hampers? Or is that tight?

I was originally going to sell them but would rather give them to people who will use them and save the trouble.

I think that's a great idea. I have loads of cook books that I rarely use. Better to re gift than throw away and if it's part of a hamper you could add things that compliment the book

I think it's a great idea, not tight at all, especially as they'll be part of a gift.

I'm happy for people to re gift things I've given them. Sometimes I don't get it quite right and I'd rather they sent it on to someone who'll love it.

Go for it i would. You have not used them so don't see the problem with re gifting them.

I think it a lovely idea especially as you said they are all into cooking . I'm also thinking of hampers this year

Thank you!! I saw them piled up and thought how nice it would be to give them alongside the hamper then started to doubt myself and whether it is the done thing or not.

I'm putting them in the spare room with the rest of the presents now :)
