Kids computer tablets

I want to get my 5 year old DS a tablet for Christmas but I can't make head nor tail of the products out there - Vtech Inotab and its various forms, I think Leapfrog do one too. Can can anyone shed any light?

InoTab 2 works wonders!

My dc have 2 innotab 3s but they never play on them. And when you add in the cost of the games for the innotab and leappad you could get a decent tablet instead. The kindle fire is good. It has excellent parental controls and a good selection of free apps. Plus mine has been dropped a good few times and still looks like new.
