Dressing table and mirror

DD (6) would love a dressing table, but I dont want to buy a plastic one. Wooden ones though are bordering £200!

Does anyone know of a nice one that won't cost me the earth?

Thanks.

Great Little Trading have ones for less than £150 and they often run discounts / sales . Very good quality stuff as well - was looking at them for DD recently .

I bought a second hand orangey pine one off ebay for a few pounds. We painted it with annie Sloan paint and reupholstered the stool. It looks fab. Could you do something like that?

Ken, I'll have a look. DD is 6 and Id quite like the table to last a few years tbh. The GLT ones are for 3yrs+ I thought? I'll have another look though - thanks!

Ooohhh mysteryfairy, I's LOVE to do that. What size is your vanity desk? They either seem tiny or adult sized! I want so where in the middle if such a thing exists...

Have a look on Amazon, we got dd one last year for about £90. It is never going to be a family heirloom but is good enough quality for what she wants and it looks nice in her room

I can't find the exact one but something like this

I think the one we got is intended for an adult but it's reasonably compact. We must have had it about 4 years so since DD was 8. Now she is 12 it's groaning with makeup, skin are, straighteners etc so she has definitely grown into it.

I think I looked on eBay for maybe 2 or 3 weekends to get it and ruled out lots for being too big/awkward. I drove maybe 10 miles to pick it up. It was honestly that straightforward to get one. It was ugly pre restoration but I just sanded and waxed the top surface and actually even that finish would look nice all over.
