DIY Santa's Grotto

As title suggests - can I have your ideas for a do it yourself Santa's Grotto?

It is for a community event in village hall, plenty of space.

I have Santa, I have an Elf, just need the grotto now!

First things first, you'll need some sort of chair for Santa to sit on. Ideally throne like or Christmassy, otherwise an armchair of some sort would be fine. If you can't get one that looks suitably Christmassy, perhaps a faux fur or Nordic style throw on it would work?
As for the rest of the grotto, you'll need a tree or two, wrapped boxes, plenty of twinkly fairy lights etc. depending what look you're going for, you could have a Lapland scene with curtains to look like a window?
Lots of garlands etc. and Xmas music playing (you could either get a few Xmas CDs or sign up to spotify free trial and download some Xmas music to play in the background.
