Hi, my nephews love dinosaur stuff, like toys and fossils - as Christmas is coming up I wanted to get a bit of a mixed bag relating to dinosaurs - has anyone seen somewhere that I can get an assortment of things?

Try B&M , they always have if tubs of dinosaurs for great prices!

Lovelydiscusfish · 18/10/2014 20:36

I got dd a tube of (pretty crappy) dinosaurs for £2 from Morrisons, recently.

Lovelydiscusfish · 18/10/2014 20:41

Not sure how old they are - there are some great toddler picture books we love - "How do dinosaurs go to sleep?", "How do dinosaurs eat their food?" Etc. I would check the author, only they are in dd's room and she is asleep right now. They are anthropomorphic, but do depict the different breeds of dinosaur quite accurately (I suppose) and label them with their species. And these books are in Poundland at the moment, I noted!

Lovelydiscusfish · 18/10/2014 20:42

Sorry, not sure "breeds" was the right word. I know very little about dinos (but am learning!)

AChickenCalledKorma · 18/10/2014 20:45

Do they like cooking? Lakeland have some cool 3D dinosaur cookie cutters here

sassytheFIRST · 18/10/2014 20:47

Great book of Dino poems
stomp chomp, big roars, here come the dinosaurs

Big fave in our house. I particularly like the fact that the Dino's are coloured in day glo style. Think Mick Sharrat illustrated it.

addictedtosugar · 18/10/2014 20:54

How old are they?

this book is very popular with my 3 and 5 yr olds, even tho it suggests 7+
bucket of dinosaurs has also had lots of play value.

would a blanket or duvet cover be acceptable?

SkiSchoolRun · 18/10/2014 21:04

My DDs 3 & 5 love the Dinosaur poem book by Korky Paul.

Usborne has some good books. Wilko have good sticker sets.

The dinosaur eggs you chisel away at are popular here too

donkir · 18/10/2014 21:11

My ds loved the book set Dinosaur Cove.

Alexaa · 18/10/2014 21:58

Usbourne do a great "how to draw dinosaurs book" that I'm putting in DSs stocking.

Happymum12 · 18/10/2014 22:15

Not sure how old they are but Dinosaur Ark (dinosaurark.org.uk) seems pretty good and have a big range of dinosaur things

Happymum12 · 18/10/2014 22:18

Sorry my link failed here it is - www.dinosaurark.org.uk

attheendoftheday · 19/10/2014 00:26

It depends on age a bit, my dinosaur loving 3 year old likes

Usbourne big book of dinosaurs
A dinosaur dressing up tail handmade by an eBay seller
Dino world - like a slot together habitat for plastic dinosaurs to inhabit, bought in Sainsbury
Steggy the Stegasaurus cuddly toy from Amazon
Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs books and dvds

attheendoftheday · 19/10/2014 00:36

Also you can get eggs that you put in water to hatch a dinosaur out on ebay very cheaply.

I've just bought the Encyclopedia Prehistoric by Robert Sabuda for xmas which is meant to be very good.

ChippingInLatteLover · 19/10/2014 01:04

There's a good website called 'everything dinosaur'. Other than that, anywhere that sells anything for children has dinosaurs - just go out and have a bit of fun buying stuff. 'Dinosaur stage' is a brilliant one :)

ipswichwitch · 19/10/2014 02:21

Early Learning Centre has quite a few dinosaur bits. I got DS1 a set of dinosaurs (15 iirc) for £12.50 in the sale for his birthday and he loves them.
He also loves the book "The Dinosaur That Pooped a Planet!" - written by the lads from McFly :)

LuisCarol · 19/10/2014 02:57

Anything to do with Dinosaur Train.

Leeds2 · 19/10/2014 04:27

Dinosaur Roar! by Paul Strickland used to be one of DD's favourite books.

BedPig2013 · 19/10/2014 09:22

I've got dd Disney's dinosaur dvd off amazon for £5, the reviews are good but I haven't seen it myself. I've seen dinosaur sticker books in the works too for a couple of pounds

jThompson · 19/10/2014 14:56

The astrosaurs books are going down well with DS at the moment.

We had some nice gel window stickers but on the window with full sun all day they melted this

SecretLimonadeDrinker · 19/10/2014 23:36

I think the McFly guy also wrote a book called 'the dinosaur who pooped Christmas'

HaroldLloyd · 21/10/2014 21:53

This is the thread for me.

DS 3 is obsessed.

I am getting a Dino play box to keep the buggers in which changes into a play mat

Playmobil dinos

Plastic figures

The Andy's dinosaur adventures DVD which is out next month.

Chipping, thanks for that tip. Off to visit that website!

HaroldLloyd · 21/10/2014 21:54

Melissa & Doug also do wooden stamps and puzzles.

lemontwist · 21/10/2014 22:00

My 4 year old was given a dinosaur egg recently. You put in in water and over a couple of days a dinosaur 'hatches' and then keeps on expanding in the water. It was apparently only a couple of pounds but it kept his interest for days as it was the first thing he wanted to check every morning an every evening after school.
There's also a set of cards I think called dinosaur brain bites that I thought I might get as a Christmas stocking filler.

ipswichwitch · 21/10/2014 22:04

He did Secret, I've already ordered it!
