I'm going to make a film hamper for my niece who is 11. I was thinking of putting popcorn maker,a couple of DVD's and a couple of cinema vouchers in there.

Does anyone have any film suggestions for films for and 11 year old girl?

A netflix subscription?

ilovelamp82 · 10/10/2014 07:44

They tried Netflix before but they live in the middle of nowhere and so their internet connection is ridiculously slow unfortunately.

What sort of thing does she like? Music/dance? Superheroes/marvel? Fantasy? Girly?

ilovelamp82 · 10/10/2014 07:56

She used to like High School Music and things like that. Not so much superheroes/marvel. Preferably maybe something funny. Or, I would quite like something along the lines of Clueless (but she already has that).

It's unfortunately been a long time since I was an 11 year old girl and I'm a bit out of the loop.

Great idea! I would definitely go retro. Ferris Bueller and Bill and Ted Smile

A jar layered with posh hot chocolate, marshmallows and m&ms/sprinkles is pretty and easy to do.

I've never watched Ferris Bueller myself, so I'll pick that up. And Bill and Ted's is a great idea :)

Mama Mia?

There's a Disney film called 'teen beach movie' which is relatively new. I haven't seen it but my ten year old enjoyed it.

RunawayReindeer · 10/10/2014 11:05

What about the bring it on's or step up/save the last dance/honey type.films?

RunawayReindeer · 10/10/2014 11:09

Other than that.... Confessions of a teenage drama queen? Quite 11 yo friendly, or mean girls. Bridesmaids.might be a bit old, but possibly dirty dancing. It's been a while.since.I was 11 Hmm the princess diaries are a possibility, or diary of a wimpy kid?

If she is a young 11 maybe narnia films?

RunawayReindeer · 10/10/2014 11:11

angus thongs and perfect snogging is a great film

13 Going On Thirty

I agree that Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging is a good choice.

I have also recently introduced Fly Away Home and Labyrinth to a 10, 12 and 13 year old, and they have all liked them..

One last suggestion - Penelope.

Snog · 18/10/2014 11:43

Just to say that Bridesmaids is unsuitable imo. I think it is a 15 if not an 18. My 15 yr old wouldnt want to watch it (but her godmother and I found it funny.)
