JessesGirl you can use it online with code CAT6OFF valid until 30.09.14

Elvish · 24/09/2014 14:08

Thanks Eliza I just need the perfect combination of stock and voucher codes to align...

But it's a Christmas present so I do have a few weeks to sort this out!

Now I'm following this thread I find I'm surprised that people in RL I speak to haven't almost finished their Christmas shopping Shock

Supermario good ideas thanks, I was going to get How to train your dragon so I'm just off to look at Sistermoonshine toothless...

Anyone looking for a present for a difficult to buy for, geeky, puzzle-loving person - I was at a geek meet last week and although the speakers were great, somebody had a rubiks cube that was 11x11x11 instead of the more normal 3x3x3 and everybody was fixated by it and wanted to learn more...

So, struck me that it might be a good idea to pass on to this thread Grin.

The 11x11x11 one was fairly expensive - but a quick look on amazon shows that there's a 5x5x5 one for about £4.50 and a 7x7x7 one for about £22 instead of £50.

The 11x11 one seemed to be about £75 (I haven't done a thorough search or looked on aliexpress to see if there are any cheaper)

There are also quite a few other shapes and sizes and difficulties - search for 'puzzle cube' and plenty come up - from the very cheap to the very expensive - a Petaminx Mf8 Black Dodecahedron 12 Sided Magic Cube Puzzle 9x9x9 anybody?!?

PamelaEwing · 24/09/2014 14:31

Saw a Barbie car in Asda today for £15 (whoever was looking for one) not a bargain, but may go down in the run up to Christmas

Lovely girls navy and purple Owl motif clothing in Sainsburys in the TU 25% off. Got DD a purple skirt and matching navy owl motif tights for £6 ish. They had owl knitted dresses for £13 (-25%) and a 3 pack long sleeved tops with owls for £10.

ben and holly set see below for info

equestria girls see below for info

my little pony equestria girls fans: my dd is a big fan and is particularly taken with the cutie mark crusaders (scootaloo, apple bloom and sweetie belle - the younger sister ponies). We have searched high and low for the cutie mark crusader equestria dolls and the only ones we could find werw from the US at at least £55! Found some last week on amazon for £35 but with a £5 postage charge. Anyway, have found them in argos for £35! (That's for the 3 dolls - obviously a little bit smaller than the normal equestria girls ss they're the little sisters). And of couse with the 3 for 2 on toys it's an even better buy.

Another argos bargain was the ben and holly 5 figure collection which was 9.99. £15-20 elsewhere including amazon.

was a bit miffed about the dora mermaid I was planning on buying though. £17.19 last night. Shot up to £24.99 today Angry. If anyone sees a bargainous one would be ever so grateful if you'd let me know.

IAlreadyToldYou · 24/09/2014 14:38

Sorry about my links being at the top of the post rather than next to the infp, whenever I paste text on my phone it automatically goes to the top of the post no matter where the cursor is and won't let me move it down Confused

JessesGirl · 24/09/2014 14:39

Thank you Babys I've been holding off buying the DTs main present from Smyths just in case the price dropped anywhere else. They are now done until one of you lot comes up with something else that they need Grin

IsItSummerYet · 24/09/2014 14:52

Can anyone link me to the barbie shoes dispenser thing-a-me-jig? I'm sure I saw it on here as a bargain.

The Next Clearance bit of their website has been mentioned before but just to second that I too have found a few bits on there.

ipswichwitch · 24/09/2014 15:08

Clarinet yes the Frozen DVD is fake - I typed a great long post about it, then it disappeared and the kids started shrieking so I forgot to retype (sorry). It comes from Thailand and is definitely fake. If you paid by PayPal I think some people have had success in getting refunded, maybe credit card will do the same (not 100% sure).
Sorry about that though. The website looked legit, and stupidly I thought the .co.uk address meant they were at least in this country. I was pretty peed off when the packaging arrived with the Thai customs sticker on. Unfortunately a few others had ordered too before I got round to, so theirs came before mine did. Anyway, sorry again and I'll be checking the websites very carefully from now on!

nickdrakeslovechild · 24/09/2014 15:41

Did anyone else order the Zhu Zhu Pets Value Pack back in January from Tesco for £3.75? Just been in the loft and found 4 huge boxes full of them and the vet play sets that they were also selling off. 3 complete sets Bugger knows who they were for Blush They are really big. oops

Petal7 · 24/09/2014 15:47

Yes, i did, so if anyone sees any cheap zhu zhu hamsters, please let me know and then the huge boxes they can be rehomed!!

Reastie · 24/09/2014 15:53

sister DD would LOVE that fake bing bunny, but nearly £20 is a bit steep [tight]

RJ so sorry to hear that, and it doesn't matter how old she was, it's still upsetting and hard.

DrW good spot on the bing merchandise. DD has a canvas bing bag we won from for a photo competition on mn last year along with a bing book [proud]

Thanks for your suggestions. I think we have most of it all already, we've accumulated a lot over the last 5 years and DD3 just plays with all her older sisters bits. They often fight over the baby Annabel so maybe I should look at an alternative to that. baby born? its so hard to find something we don't have, plus I'm trying really hard to clear out some bits too.

Will have a good read tonight when the girls are in bed. Grin

LalaDipsey · 24/09/2014 16:10

Hello! I hardly dare mention it after Robotgate last year (!), but I'm looking for a robot for my twins for birthday or Xmas (their bday is 20th Dec). As you can imagine this means I have to get two lots of presents twice but I know that they would both love a robot. Gadget is pretty expensive - is he worth it? Or Amazon have a play tech logic one for £23. Any ideas? They will be 3.

ipswichwitch · 24/09/2014 16:30

After the robotgate thing (I missed out on the cheap Gadget) I got the mini Gadget, for about £14 iirc, which almost 3yo DS1 now loves. I have now invested in the bigger one for Christmas as it has little discs you put in to play games or something, and he'll love that.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 24/09/2014 16:34

iloveholidays · 24/09/2014 17:00

I got my frozen watch too. impressed for 1.40. funnily enough someone on my local Facebook selling page is trying to sell them for £6 a pop, made me giggle!!!

Petal7 · 24/09/2014 17:04

iloveholidays - i have the same problem too, 3 girls under 4 years apart!
This morming I bought dd3 a big soft ballerina doll in the mothercare preview. Might your dd like something similar? For her birthday, the biggest hits were her own dolly bath complete with dolly, a wheelbarrow and a lawn mower. Hope that helps.

nickdrakeslovechild · 24/09/2014 17:08

My near 3yo never plays with that damn gadget, good job it was only £10 would be furious if I had paid £40.

SpottyTeacakes · 24/09/2014 17:09

Same nick.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 24/09/2014 17:10

Has anyone seen a cheap vets kit? I know tesco had some last year and I THOUGHT I'd bpught one and put it away but I'll be buggered if I can find the bloody thing...it may have been in the bin bag of presents that got binned come to think of it. ...

Elvish · 24/09/2014 17:22

Could someone link to the Frozen watch please?
