Ds adores butterflies.
He adores soft toys.

Build a bear currently have a lovely butterfly soft toy. Wings are rainbow coloured but the body is predictively pink.
Would you get it for him anyway? I don't think he will mind but certain other family members may comment.

Why would you not buy it? As long as you can afford it and it's age appropriate. Is it just because of what others would say?
Simple reply "it's just a toy".

If you think your DS will love the toy, buy it for him Smile

If you're worried about comments unwrapping it on Christmas morning, show it to the other adults in the evening before it's wrapped, telling them how excited you are and how DS will love it. And then if anyone does comment, he won't have to hear it (and you can nip it in the bud).

Get him the butterfly. And practice your death-stare for anyone that comments.

Yes I'd get it

Ps I love this butterfly puppet amazon

I agree with above posters that it's a toy you think he'll love so get it. However for options try searching plush butterfly in amazon there are quite a few that aren't pink if you'd rather. There's a lovely and realistic one by teddy Herman in bright blu and orange.

I would see no problem in getting it. However, have a look for little live pets butterfly house. You get a lot of butterflies in lots of different colours and they even flutter in the palm of your hand.

LokiBear · 20/09/2014 07:31

I would get it. My DD'S favourite cuddly is a brown and white monkey, followed closely by a green and yellow monkey. She is mad about monkeys. No one has ever said a word about it (except to comment on how ugly brown and white monkey is - and he is!). Pink was considered a masculine colour until recent times anyway. If people say anything about the fact that a boy likes pink butterfly's then they are being narrow minded and pathetic imo. Smile

Yes I would get him it, build a bear do boys clothes for the teddies, you could buy it a boys outfit to make it look less girly?

If he loves butterflies have a look at these little live pet butterflies
