Which is better for 5-7 year olds?

K'nex, all my brothers have preferred it.

When I was a little girl I always wanted Meccano, but my parents never bought it for me. When dh and I celebrated our 1st Christmas together, he bought me some because he knew about my childhood wish.

Turns out I don't have the patience to build with Meccano, even as an adult

I think my parents may have been right not to buy it for me, after all! !
