Chatsworth?

Has anyone been to Chatsworth at Christmas? Thinking of going for the first time this year with DD2.5 and our nephews 5 & 8. I've heard good things about it but wonder if the DC will be too young to appreciate (especially for the amount of money)! It's about an hours drive away. TIA!

YES!!! once years ago and I adored it, and would love to go back, I loved the little farm next door, small but charming, the house was amazing.

For an hours drive I would go for it, for us its more like three

Yes Ive been a couple of times at Christmas. Its fab!! It`s decorated up along an Alice in Wonderland theme I believe this year!!
Only advice though, buy/book tickets online as you can jump a majority of the que then!! We waited in line christmas just gone for more than an hour to get in!!

Ooh this is near me! Do they do a good Grotto?

Its close to me too. I would love to go but not sure if it would be better if just me and dh went. Anyone been with young children?

LokiBear · 13/09/2014 19:40

I go every year but I've only done the house once. I wasn't massively impressed tbh. The decorations were lovely but not spectacular for how much they charge. It was very crowded and being short I struggled to see and found the jostling a bit much. The Christmas Market, however, is not to be missed! We are an hours drive away and go for the market, it is fab!

It's lovely but busy. We tend to avoid the market days as they are busier and children and markets don't always mix well.

There isn't a grotto it's just decorations on a theme, like nursery rhymes or narnia.

Not cheap but we enjoy it as a treat.

Thanks, I think we will leave the dcs with grandparents so me and dh can have festive mooch round the market Grin
