We love a Friday Night DVD night, and in the run up to Christmas it has to be a Christmas films.
Our favourites that we already have are;
Elf,
Miracle on 34th street,
The Santa Clause,
The Grinch
The Snow man, and Father Christmas
Home Alone,
What am I missing from my must watch Christmas film collection?

I love the holiday. I want it to be Christmas

MyMummyRuns · 22/08/2014 07:15

As well as all the classics, I love Arthur Christmas, the ending makes me well up every time Blush

YeGodsAndLittleFishes · 22/08/2014 07:46

Olive, the Other Reindeer is fun.

Love Actually is a Christmas one.

National Lampoons! That is my favourite Christmas movie. We watch at least one every day from 1st-24th December. Lampoons is the first one, Polar Express is the last one on Christmas Eve.

We have kids ones specifically for the DC to watch. The bear, the snowman and snowdog, Father Christmas, Frosty The Snowman, Beauty and the beast enchanted Christmas and nutcracker ballet.

Then there's some for just us to watch when DC are in bed! Bad santa, love actually, scrooged, deck the halls, christmas with the kranks, the family man, Lampoons, Mr Beans Christmas, it's a wonderful world, four Christmases, white Christmas, holiday inn.

Then ones for us all to watch as a family- the grinch, the Santa Claus trilogy, home alone 1&2, the grinch, jingle all the way, frozen, miracle on 34th street, polar express, elf, a Christmas story, Fred Claus.

Arthur Christmas didn't go down well with me. I don't like 21st century Santa.

Anything on Christmas 24 - so cheesy but I love it! The Christmas Shoes is probably my fav made for TV one but I also love 'a very merry mix up', 'the Christmas kiss' and 'snow globe christmas'. Also 'all I want for christmas', 'I saw mummy kissing santa claus' are watchable.

magicalmrmistofelees · 22/08/2014 15:33

Ah yes, Santa Claus the movie is a classic Smile. And Nativity is great too.

bouquetofpencils · 23/08/2014 00:19

We have the original Miracle on 34th Street and the remake. Both are wonderful.
Fred Claus is OK.
White Christmas is the ultimate. I managed to track down Holiday Inn but realised why it's never shown on telly, very dated in terms of what is acceptable.
I adore It's a Wonderful Life.
But elf and Home Alone are watched all round in our house!

Gremlins is a great Christmas film, but not if you have small children. I also really like Scrooged (Bill Murray in a version of A Christmas Carol). And Die Hard 1.

bouquetofpencils · 23/08/2014 00:25

Ooh and the made for TV Mrs Miracle ones.

McBear · 23/08/2014 07:38

Has deck the halls got Dolly Parton in?
