If you do them? MIL will insist on doing a chocolate filled one for DD because she does one for all of us, so ideally would like to stay away from food items.
Would like ideas so that I can be on the look out now as there are so many sales on.

I bought a few things in the Next sale:
Angry Birds Pez
Angry Birds hanging thingies
Hello Kitty hair bands (DD)
Fluffy socks (DD - will get some for DS)

They also usually get:
Lindt Santa
DVD
Pants
Socks
Toothbrushes (but last year they got a cheap Oral B one each so don't need these now)

I like the bottle of coke idea, so will try and find one for DS.

Those Tote socks are nice (the ones with the grippy soles) for padding about (especially for excited DC + laminate flooring)
Or in my case teenage/preteen DC and their lounging about Grin

Oo magic milk straws are a fab idea, DS1 will love it.
Boots have an offer on some character bath stuff - think it was a 4 for 3 type thing. They had jake and the never land pirates and doc mcstuffins bubble bath, flannels, sponges, etc so I'll be getting some of those.

Where can I get a decent size stocking from? All the ones I looked at last year were quite small ad you couldn't fit much in.

Crikey, Slipslipslippy that would count as ALL the Christmas gifts for our 1 DC, let alone a stocking!

DS is 2.5. Ladt year he got not very much: tube of smarties, Spongebob toothbrush, small car or two. He has a HUGE stocking, so it seemed a bit poxy, but he didn't notice!

This year, I'm planning:
Pants (he LOVES pants, so will get some Fireman Sam ones from somewhere)
More Smarties, they make a nice rattle before you open them and it is enough chocolate for the morning.
Finger lights (or do you think 3yo is too.young?) maybe glowsticks instead.
Another car or two.
Drawing pad and crayons.
Christmas-themed fingerpuppets (I've just started making them Blush )
Play doh rolling pin and cutters.

To.be honest, he is nuts about cars. We read a bok together - he rolls cars over it; we get put his Weebles tree - he dumps the weebles and runs cars down.the slide; even play doh I.have to make cars with wheels and an emergency light on top so he can shput "neewnaw neenaw".

It's getting a bit dull Shock Grin so we are at a loss really, what to.get him this year. Apart from a remote controlled carfor DH

The things that go in stockings for DH and I are small presents from under the tree: earrings, book, wallet, chocolate etc. Quite unimaginative.

I.shall.keep my eye on this thread for inspiration Smile

Ipswichwitch I made our stockings. Actually very easy, two bits sewn together, cuff on top, name emroidered if you want - that bit could be done professionally for not very much, if needs must. I made 7 while i was 'nesting' in November with DS (he's a.December baby).

The ones I made are quite big, I could probably get my actual foot into one Blush

DD will be 4.1 this year and on my list are;
-Temporary tattoos
-colouring book
-crayons stamps
-crayons wind up crayons
-balloon tied to the end
-Christmas magazine
-hair clips
-brush
-"lipstick" pink lip balm
-books

TessTackle · 27/07/2014 11:42

And finger lights!

ipswichwitch · 27/07/2014 13:54

elQuintoConyo I was wondering if I should just make them myself. Funnily enough, I made mini ones for our tree a couple of years ago when I was expecting DS1! Maybe it is a nesting thing after all :) not that I'm going to have a third DC just to get stockings made! Grin

just a quick note - the mail on sunday had an offer today for free loom bands from hobby craft. might be a great stocking filler if anyone wants a freebie.

FLORAL FOAM
It's meant to be a gardening thing, but it has a really cool texture and you can stick fingers in it and it's really weird. It keeps mine occupied for a bit. Just a fun thing for christmas morning really. You can get a good sized block for £1 in hobbycraft. www.hobbycraft.co.uk/hobbycraft-floral-foam-brick/574253-1000
