Stockings needed

OH wants to get some stockings for his siblings for Xmas as they never had them growing up. They need to be:

Medium sized - knee length, as the presents I've bought are relatively small like soap and socks.

Up to £10 - as we have to fill them!!!

Customised - want to put their names on them.

They are all over facebook selling pages

I make them. My page to look out for is mummy's creative misfits. :-)

How good are you at sewing? There's a gorgeous McCall's pattern. Might be discontinued now, but still around. Can't do an image or a link but look for M5549. As long as you use gorgeous opulent fabrics & trim, you can get great results with only beginner/novice skills.

As to putting names on, that can be done either by appliqué of letter shapes or couched cord or beads doing joined-up writing. We put our names on "permanent gift tags" (also made out of fabric), rather than the stocking itself.
